God Hears Your Prayers, But Do YOU?

When we pray, we can be assured that God hears us. We all know that. We've been taught that for as long as we have been a Christian. It is said numerous times in Scripture. I have recently been convicted of something though. I have been praying to God for help, but do I even hear my own prayers. Audibly I hear them, but do I actually hear them? I have been praying with my mouth, not my heart. The words come out my mouth, but don't fall and rest upon my heart.

We must hear our own prayers if they are to make a difference in our lives and the live's of those around us. It is not until this happens that we will be given the strength to accomplish them. A prayer that is utterly from the mouth is merely a sound, a set of compression waves. It has no power, no domain, no lasting or changing force. It will fade just as quickly as the sound it makes; however, a prayer that makes it's way into our hearts has indescribable power. No walls can contain it's rippling effects.

Let's pray not prayers from the mouth into air, but prayers from the heart into the heart. Those are the prayers that will transform the world.

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
